Our hopes postponed at the Gulf Track... |Â 29-07-2002
Sunday leg of the track races to be held between 27 and 28 July was cancelled due to the fire that broke out near the tracks at Akçagaz (LPG) Filling Station at 08.02 hours.
Upon cancellation, Mr. Iskender Aruoba, Opel Motor Sports General Manager, said that he's happy to see a huge catastrophe prevented since there are many filling stations in the vicinity.
Our Vectra-B pilot, Ibrahim Okyay, a very assertive name in the forthcoming race, was observed to be sad upon cancellation.
Delayed races will take place on a date determined by Istanbul Motor Sports Club.
