Turkey Track Championship ended with the last race at Izmir

47 teams enrolled in this last race of the champ. The race was between Opel
Motorsport (OMS) and Tofas-Fiat Motorsport. The race was realised in two
groups; F3 and N+ cars raced in the first group and N and A cars in the second group.
Ibrahim Okyay ' s concern was not seeding but champ of marks. His aim was to win the Group A. So, he made 1.07.45o and was 3 seconds ahead of his opponent.
Other OMS pilots in Group A were Oguz Bozkurt made 1.11.456 in Astra GSl and
was fifth and Yilmaz Köprücü made 1.11.583 in Astra Kitcar. Korgün Sengün made 1.14.523 in Astra GSL but Ahmet Burkay in Astra GSl could not participate in seedings.
Yilmaz Köprücü in Astra Kitcar was determined to finish the season with a good standing in spite of many unlucky incidents.
OMS's successful pilot Hamdi Ünal was 2nd in F3 group with 1.11.132 in seedings. OMS pilot Mehmet Pinarbasi was tenth. In group N, Hakan Bahar was third in Astra OPC and Kemal Bakir was fifth in Astra GSl.
Among 7 Vectra pilots, Merih Erkal made the best time with 1.12.320 and was third. Hakan Kopan made 1.13.806 after him. Erdem Çenesiz was sixth and Bülent Solmaz was seventh. Aybars Tarhan who had competed in Cup 2000 was ninth and Aytug Sakallioglu was tenth. Ümit Vatansever could not make a good seeding.
Seven pilots in this group also competed in Vectra Cup 2000, except Ümit Vatansever. Merih Erkal believes his seeding was good and his aim is to win N+. Erdem Çenesiz was very determined for the champ but his candidate was Merih Erkal. 28th of October, Sunday. Sunny day. Cars In the first F3 and N+ group are at the grid at 13:10.
The race was between Hamdi Ünal in Corsa Maxi Kitcar and Ertan Nacaroglu in
Fiat Punto Kitcar right from the beginning but Tofas pilot Mürsit Ünal hit Hamdi's car on rear tyre and Hamdi had to go into pit and he lost his chance in the race. Mürsit Ünal's punishment for this ungentlemanly behaviour was stop-start.
In group N+ our candidate champion Merih Erkal's start wasn't good but he finished third. The most serious accident of the race was between Tofas pilots Mehmet Saray, Ahmet Atay and OMS pilot Hakan Kopan. When OMS pilot was passing Atay, he was hit from behind and that's why he hit two other cars and made them spin. Later, he had to quit due to an electrical failure.
In Second Group, A and N class cars started off at 15:00. Ibrahim Gökyay's start in Astra G Kitcar was very good and he won the race.
The most serious accident in the second group was Tofas pilot Ethem Genim's
spin.
Astra GSl pilot Oguz Bozkurt forced off track and damaged Astra OPC and its pilot Hakan Bahar had to quit.
