New Corsa Maxi Kitcar on speedways in 2002... | 17-07-2001
The new Corsa is being prepared for the next season. It is owned by OPC (Opel Performance Center) and manufactured by RML (Ray Mallock Ltd.). It was first exhibited in Essen Motor Show on 1 December 2000 and then in Birmingham Motor Show. RML carried out all tests in 2001 and recently made some intensive tests in Spain in order to define ideal gear-box and suspension arrangements. Corsa will be homologed in November 2001 and will race in Super 1600 in 2002 World Rally Championship. Project carried out by Ray Mallock said:"With al the restrictions FIA brought to Super 1600, CORSA will be as fast, stable and durable as its rivals, Puma, Punto and Saxo". "These new restrictions increase the fragility of the car but our efforts are intensified in that direction" and he added: "Our test programme is going on smoothly and we're very close to perfection."
One of the first six CORSA Maxi Kitcars manu_factured, will be for Opel Motor Sport Turkey. RML, who designed and developed Astra Kitcar winning championships in Great Britain, Germany, Sweden and Norway, believes that CORSA will alsoachieve big success.
