THE HEART OF AUTOMOBILE SPORT WILL BEAT IN ANTALYA! | 29-08-2002


Anatolian Rallye 2002, which is the candidate for the World Rally Championship, is being organized in Antalya for the third time by the Turkish Automobile and Motorsports Federation during September 5-8. The race will be started at Antalya Cumhuriyet Avenue on Thursday, September 5 at 18:00 and will be finished at Beach Park on Sunday, September 8 at 15:42.

The total length of the rally is 1312.54 km. 18 special legs will be run. The total length of the special legs is 380.22 km.

The Anatolian Rally is considered important because it may introduce foreign people to Turkish culture and Anatolian heritage. Before the rally, OMS's co-pilot Bahadır Gücenmez, who took part in races in the years 1999 and 2000, came back to his home. Before the Anatolian Rally, the OMS team has gained strength through Bahadır Gücenmez. The Anatolian Rally 2002 will be Bahadır Gücenmez's first race after he came back to his home.

The Hamdi Ünal and Bahadır Gücenmez team are getting ready assertively for the Anatolian Rally 2002, which is important in order to develop motorsports in present-day Turkey. The team will race with Opel Astra. According to Hamdi Ünal who will race in his hometown, the name of Turkish Rally Champion may gain clearness at the end of this race.
